Transport Solés provides support to Oncotrail 2022

Transport Solés has been working collaboratively with the Fundació Oncolliga Girona since 2004, when the entity was established. In 2022, we maintained our commitment and became partners with the Serendipity team, which will be participating in the Oncotrail next October. We support two causes that mean a great deal to us: the fight against cancer and the promoting of sports.

The Oncolliga Foundation represents a non-profit organization that aims at psychosocial care for people with cancer and their families. Transport Solés supports the foundation by contributing with activities which are held in order to obtain financial help, such as: charity dinners in Girona, solidary games like “Quinas” in La Bisbal or sport events like Oncotrail.

The Oncotrail will take place this year on Saturday, 1 of October. Departing from Palafrugell. All participants will travel 100 kilometers through Costa Brava and the Gavarres mountains. It will be the 9th edition, with 300 teams participating.

Registrations are currently being made in three parts. The first one was until January 31, there we registered the groups that already participated in 2021, such as Serendipity, which is the team that Transport Solés collaborates with.

“The collaboration between Transports Solés and Oncolliga goes a long way back and we are very satisfied with it. It is a foundation that is carrying out an absolutely marvellous job of helping patients with cancer and their families. In addition, their solidarity sport activities, such as Oncotrail, Oncoswim and Oncobike, fully fit with our interest in spreading and broadcasting the world of sport,” explains Francesc Xavier Solés, manager of Transport Solés.

The previous edition of the Oncotrail raised about 345,000 euros. In each edition, the teams that register make a donation to Oncolliga Girona for at least a thousand euros. Each team looks for sponsors and organizes activities to raise funds, which often end up being much higher. During the eight years that it has been carried out, the Oncotrail has raised more than 1,500,000 euros for improving the living conditions of patients with cancer and their families throughout all the regions of Girona.
