Participation and sporting success in the 35th edition of Rally Empordà, sponsored by Transports Solés

The Rally Empordà has come back again… and even the weather smiled at us in this 35th edition! A total of 115 registered teams, motor enthusiasms as well as plenty of positive energy were what guaranteed the success for this event that Escuderia Baix Empordà (EBE) organized, and Transport Solés sponsored.
On Friday, May 27th the technical verifications took place at the facilities of Transports Solés, in Vulpellac. Then, on Saturday 28th the engines started to roar from 10:00 am. The race started and finished in la Bisbal. It covered 158 kilometres along the roads of the Baix Empordà region, from the interior to the coast, not forgetting the Gavarres mountain range and the peak of Els Àngels.
“We look forward to Rally Empordà every year. It is a pleasure being able to support the Escuderia Baix Empordà in this event,” says Francesc Xavier Solés, head of Transport Solés. He continues saying,”This classic motorsport event not only promotes the sport and gives visibility to our area, but the professionalism and good organization of the EBE engages a significant number of teams as well.”
Martí Juanals, director of the Rally Empordà, values positively the course of the event. “One more year, we have had great registration success and an outstanding number of participants, with top-level teams,” he explains. “The event has taken place without any notable incidents. The development has been pleasant, with the utmost punctuality in every test.” he adds.
“We are delighted and grateful to Transports Solés for their sponsorship and for opening the doors of their facilities. It provides us with a large space where we can carry out all the assessments and ratings perfectly and find ourselves wonderfully attended”, concludes Juanals.
Results of the 35th Rally Empordà
The Rally Empordà scores for the Catalan Rally Championship. The first place on the podium was taken by Eduard Pons and Alberto Chamorro, from Mapo Motorsport, with a Skoda Fabia and clocked a time of 56’51.6.
Xavier Domènech and Susanna Cercadillo from the Motor Club Sabadell with their Porsche 997 obtained second place. The podium was completed with Joan Segú and Alberto Gil, also from the Motor Club Sabadell, with a Citroën DS3.
