The\u00a0outbreak\u00a0of\u00a0war\u00a0and the humanitarian emergency in Ukraine have raised awareness around the\u00a0world, especially in Europe.\u00a0In Transport\u00a0Sol\u00e9s\u00a0we\u00a0are\u00a0moved\u00a0by an inward\u00a0desire\u00a0to\u00a0help\u00a0in any\u00a0way\u00a0we\u00a0can to\u00a0improve\u00a0the\u00a0living\u00a0conditions of\u00a0people, everywhere.\u00a0That\u00a0is\u00a0why\u00a0we\u00a0participate\u00a0in solidarity projects both in our\u00a0area\u00a0and in more disadvantaged regions.<\/p>\n
On this\u00a0occasion, when the first\u00a0information\u00a0arrived of the desperate situation in Ukraine, we set out to\u00a0put\u00a0our\u00a0grain\u00a0of\u00a0salt.\u00a0And how could we be of better help than to organizing transportation? Which\u00a0is what we do best!<\/p>\n
We\u00a0arranged\u00a0the\u00a0trip\u00a0of six\u00a0trucks\u00a0from Barcelona to Romania, where we\u00a0have\u00a0a logistics base, and from there to Ukraine.\u00a0These\u00a0transports\u00a0have\u00a0delivered\u00a0all\u00a0types\u00a0of humanitarian aid:\u00a0clothes, non-perishable food such as powder milk,\u00a0water,\u00a0medicines,\u00a0toys, etc.\u00a0In total, about 550 cubic metres of humanitarian material have been\u00a0delivered.<\/p>\n
“When\u00a0seeing\u00a0how the\u00a0situation\u00a0was\u00a0in Ukraine, we moved\u00a0right\u00a0away,”\u00a0explains\u00a0Francesc\u00a0Xavier\u00a0Sol\u00e9s,\u00a0owner\u00a0of Transport\u00a0Sol\u00e9s.\u00a0“We\u00a0located\u00a0a reliable website of\u00a0collaboration\u00a0with Ukraine which\u00a0was\u00a0our\u00a0starting point.\u00a0Then\u00a0we contacted\u00a0immediately\u00a0with the\u00a0Romanian\u00a0authorities who were\u00a0managing\u00a0aid shipments,\u00a0working\u00a0with the Spanish embassy in Romania, the Ukrainian one\u00a0and\u00a0directly\u00a0with the\u00a0Romanian\u00a0government,”\u00a0he\u00a0explained.”Our\u00a0goal\u00a0was\u00a0to\u00a0ensure\u00a0with\u00a0certainty\u00a0that the\u00a0material\u00a0we\u00a0transported\u00a0reached\u00a0the\u00a0areas\u00a0in\u00a0need,”\u00a0he\u00a0added.<\/p>\n
